Hello, how is your English study going? I have found building vocabulary is vital for improving English skills. That’s why, at our school, we focus on expanding vocabulary by having students take a vocabulary quiz in every lesson. To gain more vocabulary, students need to read a lot and understand words in context. The more students read, the better they grasp the nuances of words. The tricky part is that many words have multiple meanings, and a single definition will not always apply in every context.

Reading English not only a lot but also quickly and out loud is really important for mastering the language. I always give an article each week to junior and senior high school students, college students and adults, and they need to read it at least once a week. When you are studying or working in English, your reading speed and accuracy really matter. That’s why every English test has time limits for reading and even for listening comprehension, often giving you as little as 10 seconds to choose an answer. Of course, as you move to higher levels, the reading passages, listening materials, and answer choices get longer.

Reading an article once a week is the minimum you can do, and of course, you can read even more English passages for your own benefit. Building vocabulary by memorizing words and reading a lot definitely makes a big difference in your progress. What is more, quick understanding of what you read and what you hear shows your English proficiency.

インフルエンザも猛威を振るっているようです。感染しないように予防と免疫力を高めることに努めましょう。適度な運動と普段の地道な学習が心を落ち着け、幸せホルモンセロトニンをだし、体調を保ってくれると私は思っています。

何といっても英語の学習で大切なものはボキャビルです。単語や熟語をひたすら覚えるには限度があり、実際の意味合いやニュアンスは文脈で理解しないとわからず、単語を身に着けることにつながりません。　たくさん読むそして速く音読することを特に単語を覚える意味においてもお勧めします。毎週中学生以上に渡している記事は最低目を通してもらいたいです。訳と単語の説明があるので、自分のレベルに関係なく、覚えられる単語は覚えるよう努めてください。

どの単語も必要です。レベルにかかわりなく身に付けられる単語を何でも身に付けてください。「記事を１週間に１つ」というのは最低限のことで、自分のために様々な文を読んでください。速読、音読そして録音して自分の英語を聞き修正することを習慣的にすると、単語がもっと覚えやすくなります。

要するに、単語を覚え英語を読んで聞いて早く理解する、そして早く反応することをトレーニングしていきましょう。
