LETTER FROM HAPPY ENGLISH SCHOOL Mar. 10th 2025

Hello, how are you doing? Spring is just around the corner. However, it seems, hesitant to arrive right away, Hurry up, spring. Come on! You do not have to take your time. Fortunately, I do not have hay fever at the moment, so you are welcome anytime.

In my previous letter, I recommended the online program “kimini”. After studying it more thoroughly, I have found that without expert guidance, the program is not as effective. This is because it is not designed to provide students with proper advice on which areas to focus on to improve their English skills.

By reviewing each student’s weekly performance, the teachers at Happy English School can determine whether they should focus on grammar, vocabulary, listening, reading, speaking or writing to achieve their goals. We can guide students through the vast world of English vocabulary and help them understand English grammar, which is completely different from Japanese grammar.

Listening, reading, speaking and writing require extensive practice built on a solid foundation of vocabulary expansion and grammar study. Besides, using online programs to strengthen weaker skills as needed can be highly effective.

We carefully observe our students and guide them to study and practice efficiently. By doing so, we keep them motivated, set clear goals, and support them in achieving the proficiency they need to communicate effectively in English on a global level.

春が来そうで来ない。歩みを止めたり引き返したりで、もどかしい思いです。暖かい日には春の陽気を感じるのに、翌日は寒くて雪が降ったりして期待を裏切ってくれます。

新しい1年が４月からまた始まります。この１年の成果をベースにして、さらに学業に仕事に趣味に余暇に旅行に使えるように、語彙や文法をしっかり勉強し、読んだり、聞いたり、書いたり、話したりの練習をしっかりしていきましょう。様々な場で物おじせず英語が使えるよう、常日頃から「英語では何？」というということを意識して生活しましょう。英語はもちろん使うことで生きています。クラスでも家でも友達間でもどんどん英語の練習をしてください。

以前のLetterで、Kimini のレッスンをお勧めしましたが、実際に試した見た結果、Onlineのレッスンだけでは、具体的に何をすればよいかの示唆がなく、勉強を進める上で効率があまりよくないかもしれません。Happy English Schoolの先生のガイダンスがあればOnlineレッスンも生きてくると思います。
