LETTER FROM HAPPY ENGLISH SCHOOL　　Dec.4th 2024

How are you doing? The year is already coming to an end－time really flies！ I am sure that you have improved your English since the start of the school year. I encourage you to challenge yourself by testing your English proficiency at least once a year. You can take the STEP test, Junior STEP test, or other English qualification exams like TOEIC or IELTS. If you are not confident enough to take a test yet, try practicing with past exam papers from these tests.

I went to Singapore at the end of October and visited two language schools there. I found these schools were very advanced as they had digital boards which displayed not only digital textbooks but also information and images from the internet. Teachers could mark and write on the screens, making it easier for students to explore words, phrases, and topics.

I had four guests come from one of the language schools to Happy English School and we discussed teaching methods and materials. I mentioned, Kimini, an online program where learners can study independently. It is a well-organized and systematic learning tool that covers vocabulary, reading, listening, pronunciation, and quick response practice. It also offers online follow-up lessons with Filipino teachers after students complete certain exercises using digital materials and YouTube videos.

I think it is a good idea to use these online resources along with other materials to study at home every day and then come to Happy English School to apply and reinforce what they have learned. We, as teachers, can guide students through the materials by advising on what skills they need to strengthen and practice. We also support them in further improving their strong skills.

We hope that students study English every day to master the language. There is no royal road to success in learning English, but consistent and dedicated effort will lead to remarkable success.

実際に受けなくても過去の問題や練習問題をしてみることで、補強すべきスキルさらに伸ばすスキルがわかると思います。向上心と目標をもって、英語学習に取り組んでいきましょう。英検２級レベルに達していない学習者は、Kiminiのようなonlineのプログラムも有効だと思います。単語、発音、スピーキング、リスニングなどが体系的に学べ、毎日のように単元をして。その後フィリッピンのインストラクターのフォロウアップのレッスンを受けるようになっています。（一ヵ月無料で試せます）。

2か月目からは、費用もいることですし、ずっと続けるのには根気がいるし、パターンが一緒なのでつまらなくなってしまうかもしれなれませんが、英語の訓練にはいいと思います。特に試験前で特訓が必要な人が、弱いスキルを集中して訓練するのもよいでしょう。NHKの英語の番組ももちろんありです。私はビジネス英語のテキストブックを常に電車の中などで読んでいます。

日頃の英語学習をしたうえで、Happy English Schoolで何をどのように学べばよいかを実際に個々に向上ができるようにアドバイスとレッスンを受けるというのが効率よく英語学習に取り組む方法だと思います。
