LETTER FROM HAPPY ENGLISH SCHOOL

Hello. We see beautiful leaves here and there. They are vivid red and yellow. It is autumn, the time to appreciate harvests and get ready for winter. We can also enjoy autumnal delicacies such as chestnuts, persimmons and mushrooms.

We could enjoy outings on days of nice weather. Going on picnics and hiking would be wonderful. Fortunately, the state of emergency against the coronavirus has not been issued even though the number of new infection cases is increasing, we can go for a walk even in the neighborhood and feel the nice and crisp autumn air. We can discover something new while walking. Our towns are always changing and nature shows different faces from season to season.

We can take different routes to go to the same place. We can take a detour or get off one stop before the destination and walk there. We can explore our neighborhoods and our ways to school or work more if we stroll around. Visiting parks, temples and shrines on the way is fun and while walking we may come across a bakery and a restaurant we have never been to. Checking out nice eateries is also fun.

In the midst of COVID19, we can enjoy reading, cooking and eating. Why don’t we try something new with the extra time to spend on our hands. We can catch up on reading, make a new recipe for cooking and try eating new food. We could enrich our lives by venturing into the untrodden world.

And, of course, we can spend more time studying English.

秋色に色づいた街は赤や黄色に染めあがり、あでやかです。収穫の秋、冬に備える秋。秋の味覚も楽しみです。コロナ禍でも、天気の良い日に近くを散歩する楽しみもあります。近所を散策しても、今まで気づかなかった発見があるものです。ちょっと違ったルートを通ったり、寄り道をするのはどうでしょう？

読書や料理、そして新しいものを食べてみるのも、人生を豊かにしてくれます。

もちろん、「時間ができたら英語の勉強」という習慣もつけてください。言葉を覚えるのも楽しいものです。
