LETTER FROM HAPPY ENGLISH SCHOOL Oct. 21st, 2020
Hello, how are you? We have nice and cool weather in October, don’t we? I hope this will last really long. Unfortunately, we won’t have a Halloween costume contest this year, but we will enjoy playing Halloween games in the class. This year the scariest thing ever is the coronavirus. Can it be a Halloween character? While almost all of the Halloween characters are imaginary figures, the COVID 19 is a real life-threatening pandemic, which has deprived many people’s lives.
This year’s second round of the Step test was held on October 3rd and 34 students from our school and outside school took the exams. Happy English School was asked to accept non-Happy English School students’ applications because there were not enough test venues to accommodate the number of examinees amid the pandemic and indeed 11 students from outside of our school joined us. I hope every student takes the Step test to set their goals to improve their English. The Step test can serve as a good milestone to guide you onto the path toward a better English proficiency.
It is good if you pass the test, but even if not, you can learn from it. You can learn about your weak points and strong points and how to make Progress in your English.
You can learn from your mistakes on the test you took. Learning from mistakes means that you get committed to memorizing the mistaken words and phrases and understanding what you did not understand on the test. You also need to build up grammar knowledge, attain reading comprehension, and boost your listening and speaking skills.
I hope we can get you motivated to keep studying and also help you find it really interesting to learn and understand English, and, above all, to communicate using it.
良い気候になってきました。コロナで今年はハロウィンコスチュームコンテストを開催できず、残念です。英検がまた1月にありますが、どんどんチャレンジして英語力を高めてください。合格しても合格しなくても、テストから学べることがたくさんあります。それぞれの英検の級を目標にして、それに見合う学習を続けてください。それはやがて、しっかりと着実に、あなたの身に付きます
